The willingness of the Obama Administration to exceed the Constitutional powers of the President / Executive Branch and assert authority far beyond that directed in federal statutes (laws enacted by the Legislative Branch of the Federal Government) or the limited enumerated powers in the United States Constitution is starting to show up more frequently.
Under the radar, another very current Obama Adminstation move is seeking to create applicable law in the field of coastal zone regulation, respecting the oceans and the Great Lakes. The common law and Constitutional tradition of the United States provides that states own and govern the natural resources under public waters in their territory. Nevertheless, since 2010, when Obama created an Ocean Policy Council (unconstitutional), Obama has directed that the federal government agencies conduct themselves according to United Nations "sustainability" doctrine (Agenda 21) and other international treaties never ratified by the Senate of the United States. This will put a federal roadblock on coastal zone development by imposing requirements not contained in existing statutes such as the Clean Water Act. The Republican leadership in Congress has complained to no avail. The deadline for public comments on the Draft Implementation Plan closes in a few days, on February 27th. I hope interested states and companies will point out the unconstitutional federal overreach, but unfortunately most are not focused on the issue.
This "end around" the statutes ploy is now commonplace in Obama's use of the United States EPA (EPA) to change the way American laws are enforced. Instead of obeying them, the EPA has skirted their duties in deference to extremist United Nationas environmentalist dogma. In respect to so called greenhouse gas regulation, rather than seriously review all of the best science as the Clean Air Act directs, they simply regurgitated the United Nations' highly politicized IPCC report and called it a consensus that man is causing dangerous global warming. The supposed IPCC science has been discredited on almost all fronts, not the least of which being their predictions are not coming true. In fact, the most recent report by the East Anglia Climatic Research Unit shows that there has been no global warming for over 15 years and that the trend appears to moving towards to cooling and years of shorter growing seasons for food production!! But nevertheless, what the EPA originally dished-out as a finding to deal with automotive exhaust, is now taking the time and attention of American utilities and
manufacturers of all sorts of products, even before the courts have ruled on the original decision over CO2. I personally believe the cost and turmoil of the CO2 scare will likely go down in history as the costliest authoritarian myth since Hitler stirred up Germany with the notion of Aryan Supremacy.
So, all hail Obama. This brazen man who has successfully bluffed his way to the White House despite his Communist and otherwise anti-American beliefs and numerous seditious associates is apparently feeling so sure of himself that he is already acting beyond his constitutional obligation to "faithfully execute the laws", even before his reelection.
All the complaints of Obama ignoring the Constitution are properly handled by the Legislative Branch and the Judicial Branches of the Federal Government (as well as the individual 50 States). It is one of the legislative duties of our 435 Representatives and 100 Senators to rein in the Chief Executive and act as a check on the extra-constitutional malfeasance of the "Occupier of the Oval Office." No congressman currently in office possesses the courage and sense of duty to go forward on this front. Individual congressmen should stop whining about the problem and do their jobs. Lord knows they are not doing much else up there on the Hill in Washington, D.C.
Lost Opportunities?
Tuesday morning and America cringes at another week of misdirection, distractions, lies, smears, half-truths, fibs, deception, fictions, slander, evasion and statistical fabrications emitted by the “most transparent Administration in US history”. Yes, there are substantive issues that should demand some of our attention: the steep rises in food and gas prices due to the intentional devalutation of the US dollar by the Federal Government and their complicit (privately-owned and certainly not federal) Federal REserve Bank, Keystone XL, the ascension of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt under our training and support. But there is one overriding issue that drains our nations vitality, that will not appear on the thirty second sound bites this week; our unfathomable Federal debt.
We all know that hollow feeling of paying interest on our revolving credit cards. So, what opportunities have the Federal government forgone by paying out an average of $382 billion a year in interest? That money could have been used for the betterment of the entire country; NASA, parks and recreation, transportation, blue collar infrastructure, energy research, medical research, the-wish-we-coulda's are endless as our desires for doing good for all citizens.
Unemployment Rising Again
Unemployment in the U.S. rose to nine percent in mid-February 2012, up from 8.3 percent a month earlier, according to a new Gallup survey. The polling company said this suggests that it is “premature” to assume the economy will not feature prominently in the 2012 election season. Remember, the Bureau of Labor Statistics now calculates the unemployment rate by first removing those who have been forced to work part-time and those who have just "given-up" and have stopped looking for a job. The actual unemployment rate is much higher.
The survey also found that “underemployment” – those unemployed and those working part-time because full-time jobs are unavailable – rose to 19 percent,
Obama’s Gas Spike
Gasoline prices are rising rapidly and already some stations in Los Angeles are charging $4.93/gallon.
This latest gas-price jolt is predictable. Obama has done much to impede the supply of petroleum products to consumers. Most particularly, he exploited the 2010 BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico as an excuse to clamp down on oil drilling in the Gulf and also along the Atlantic and Pacific coasts.
Last week, the Republican-led House of Representatives passed an energy bill by a vote of 237-187 that would reverse Obama’s recent decision to block construction of the Keystone XL oil pipeline. With his December announcement to delay a final ruling on the project until 2013, Obama, as a favor to his radical anti-business political base, passed up an opportunity to create an estimated 20,000 construction jobs. The House bill grants pipeline developer TransCanada a permit to proceed with the project and allows for expanded oil drilling in offshore reservoirs and in the protected Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
However, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is planning prevent the upper chamber from even voting on the measure, saving his socialist buddy Obama from the embarrassment of vetoing an economy-boosting measure in an election year.
Obama has made a strategic error in rejecting the Keystone XL pipeline. Americans instinctively know that we need to develop our own resources or get them from a friendly source, like Canada. We should be an exporter of oil not an importer. America is truly blessed with an abundance of coal, natural gas and oil. We should be investing in ways to make these energy sources cleaner to our environment instead of ignoring what we have or investing in green energy that is current economically unfeasible. In fact, TransCanada is now making arrangements to run the pipeline to the west coast of Canada and to sell all of the oil to China and other Asian nations due to the insanity of the Obama Administration and the powerful sociofascist eco-terrorist lobbyists.
Barack Obama's sociofascist policies are bad for America no matter how you slice it. The only people who think otherwise are those that are not paying attention, are plain ignorant of the facts, or are receiving the entitlement largess of the current Executive Branch and Legislative Branch big-government statists.
